Many projects have been imagined on the site of the former Austin Center in the Westshore business district — but Tampa real estate executive Andrew Wright saw a lot of upside in sticking to the basics.
Wright’s Ally Capital purchased the Austin Center, a 300,000-square-foot office park in Westshore, and set off on a plan to rehabilitate the aging office park into a modern office property that provided an affordable alternative to the city’s brand-new, high-rent buildings.
His plans have added two restaurants to the property and, in 2020, landed a headquarters deal: Heritage Insurance signed a lease to move its headquarters from Clearwater to Westshore.
